Contact us about your information

Email info@foundbrighton.com to ask a question, request a copy of your information, or ask us to delete it.

Who we are

Found.in.Brighton is responsible for the information described on this page. You can reach us about it at any time using the contact details below.

What we collect

We collect only what the free check needs.

  • Your email address, which you confirm before a check starts
  • What you tell us about your business: its name, website, area, the things you want to be known for and any competitors you name
  • The five questions you choose
  • The results of your check
  • Basic technical records that our hosting providers keep to run and protect the site, such as an IP address and the time of a request

How we use it

We use your information to provide the check you asked for, and for nothing unrelated to it.

  • To run your check and show you the results
  • To email you a sign-in link, and to tell you when your results are ready
  • To let you sign in again later and see your saved results
  • To keep the service working, secure and improving

What we do not do

We do not sell your information. We do not add you to a mailing list or send marketing emails. If we ever offer updates, that will be a separate choice for you to make.

What is sent to the AI providers

To run a check we send your five questions and the area you entered to OpenAI, Anthropic and Google. We do not send them your email address or your business name.

Who else handles your information

We use a small number of companies to run the service. They act on our instructions and may only use your information to provide their service to us.

  • Supabase, which stores your check and manages sign-in
  • Vercel, which hosts this website
  • Render, which runs the checks
  • An email delivery provider, which sends sign-in links and results notifications

Where it is processed

Some of these companies are based in, or use servers in, countries outside the United Kingdom, including the United States. Where that happens we rely on the contractual safeguards those companies provide for international transfers.

Our legal basis

Under UK data protection law, we use your information because it is necessary to provide the service you have asked for, and because we have a legitimate interest in keeping that service secure and working well.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address and your saved check while your account exists, so that you can return to your results. Ask us to delete them and we will remove your account and your saved check within 30 days. A record of the questions asked and the AI answers received may be kept without your email address.

Cookies and browser storage

We use only what the service needs to work. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

  • A sign-in cookie, so you stay signed in while you view your results
  • A copy of your unfinished check, kept in your own browser until the check starts

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Contact us and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this page

If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
